UALA Committees

UALA members are welcome and encouraged to join a committee. Fill out the interest form below to join a UALA Committee!

All our committees are designed to help and engage with the community and membership. Each committee chair is available for the community to contact and voice their concerns, comments, or praises.

Committees & Descriptions

Finance/Audit  - Reviews the finances of the association, aids the treasurer and ED in preparing budgets, and making recommendations for short and long term revenue options.

Legislative/Advocacy - Designed to be the sounding board for the community. This committee and its members are here to listen to the community at large and determine the issues we care about, work through possible solutions, and bring forth our concerns/solutions to elected officials. In addition, this committee monitors legislation that can impact the industry and is a voice in support of assisted living communities.

Membership Committee - The committee is responsible for developing member  benefits and engaging with communities to determine the need. All efforts are geared to increasing the member satisfaction of the association and creating value-add opportunities to increase and retain membership.

Marketing & PR Committee -  Is responsible for developing the overall marketing strategy of the association. This committee determines the strategy and topics for marketing to members and to the public. . 

Education Committee - This committee will determine the needs of the industry in regards to courses and education. The objective is to create events that are valuable to membership. Event should also increase awareness within the industry. This committee will review current educational events and policies to make sure we are meeting the needs of the membership and staying current.

Conference Committee - The conference committee is responsible for preparing and organizing the UALA annual conference in May and the golf tournament in September. The conference chair will determine the date and location and provide assignments to committee members. Tasks include; Speakers, Presentation Topics, Venue Details, Sponsors, Registration, Raffle Prizes, and more.
